We have quite a flexible cut-off time as it depends on the workload of the particular day, but orders placed before 3pm will typically be sent out the same day, whereas ones placed after that will probably go out the following day, (or the following Monday if you order on a Friday.)

If your order is large, complex or requires a lot of assembly please allow us time to get it put together for you: if that vital gig requiring 20 custom patch leads is on Saturday, then 4.37pm on Friday is not the best time to order it! Apologies if this sounds obvious but you may be surprised how often it happens.

We have been behind with George L’s orders to the UK / EU in the past two months. I would like to apologise to anyone who’s had to wait for their order and also to let everyone know that we have resolved such problems. We will be holding increased levels of stock here and our supply times from the US have been cut to 3 – 4 days.

We are also introducing an online ordering system based on available stock, to avoid backordering. Rarely-ordered items will ultimately be taken off the shopping cart menu, for the same reason.

All the above will make ordering from us a simple and speedy process from now on.

by David at Moonphase on Wed 29 Sep 2010 10:49 BST

A very big Hurrah to Robert Keeley and his team for making his famous modified pedal range available again after them spending a couple of months off the menu. It was a shock to us and our customers when they were suspended, but the factory pricing was evidently simply wrong, and that situation clearly couldn’t carry on forever. Tubescreamers in particular were only fractionally more expensive than bog-standard ones, not a sensible situation given the amount of skilled bench work and shipping cost that goes into modifying each one. So, with a factory price increase, prices have unfortunately had to go up accordingly on Keeley pedals all around the world. Our shopping cart for modified pedals has been turned back on.

by David at Moonphase on Tue 11 May 2010 10:54 BST

After all the fanfare a couple of months ago about us introducing Paypal as an additional payment method, after living with it for a while we unfortunately may now have to remove it. The fees are at least triple, the admin more complex and the payment clearance times are about five times longer than for regular debit & credit cards, so there’s a very good chance it will vanish from the options list on our shopping cart.

Update 13 May – RBS Worldpay have improved their terms so Paypal stays!

Update update 28 June – the terms were not delivered upon, so Paypal has gone and I can’t say I’m sorry to see it go.

I understand rumours have been circulating about the possible existence of a Robert Keeley-modded Ibanez Jemini – in fact the Jemini does not lend itself to being modded, partly because it uses surface mount components, and none have been modified by Keeley Electronics. There are currently no plans to mod this model.

Thank you to everyone who phoned in (and are still phoning in!) about the price - the review shows a £199 delivered price; this is WRONG and the EFX has never been sold or offered at this price! £199 is the price of the Midi Volume Control. The correct UK delivered price for the EFX MkII v 3.0 is £439 as shown on our site at www.musicomlab.co.uk which incidentally we are aware does not display at all correctly in Firefox. We’re working on that issue but in the meantime please use Internet Explorer to view.

by David at Moonphase on Tue 16 Mar 2010 12:16 GMT

Finally, after months of bureaucracy, Moonphase Guitar Electronics accepts Paypal (in addition to debit/credit cards) as a payment method for everything we sell online; including Robert Keeley effect pedals, George L’s cables, MusicomLab effects switching systems and the Moonphaser. When you checkout through our shopping cart system you will now be offered, for your convenience, the option of paying by Paypal as well as the familiar Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and so on.

We do have one important request though – PLEASE use Paypal ONLY if you already have a balance in your Paypal account that you want to spend. If you’re paying us with a credit or debit card, PLEASE DON’T pay via Paypal; it’s a pointless layer of extra processing that is no more secure and takes an additional 7 working days to clear. Paypal at least triples our transaction fee costs on credit cards and far more than that on debit cards, all of which does nothing but make profit for Paypal. If a significant number of card payments do end up going (completely unnecessarily) through Paypal we will be forced to remove it from our checkout because it’s so expensive and slow. Thank you for your help on this!

All MusicomLab EFX MkII switching systems sent out from now on will be the latest v3.0. The operating manual for the v3.0 can be accessed here http://www.moonphase.co.uk/efxmkii_manual_ver30e.pdf

Updated: A note on connecting the power supply to the EFX MkII – if using a 12Vdc supply, the +ve/-ve polarity of the barrel jack tip & sleeve DOES NOT MATTER. The EFX MkII has a built-in full-wave rectifier so it can also accept a 9Vac supply. Whichever type of supply you use it should be capable of delivering 400mA continuously.

by David at Moonphase on Sun 08 Nov 2009 21:06 GMT

I’ve been looking at some “special offers” out there, including one I found for the Keeley Compressor for £169-ish with “free delivery”, what they only tell you in tiny print is that you have to add VAT. Sellers to the retail market are supposed to include VAT in all their pricing, but some don’t bother for some reason. You might think this is to dupe the unwary into thinking their prices are lower than they are, or maybe to get better hits through search engines and comparison sites, I couldn’t possibly comment. When VAT is added, and if you bother to read your credit card bill, your “special offer” price suddenly jumps to £195, not £169. Given that we sell the same pedal for £189 with Royal Mail Special Delivery and VAT included as our REGULAR price, and all our pedal prices already include delivery and VAT, we would strongly advise you to read the small print (and it is often quite small) very carefully before jumping at “bargains” that may not be what they first appear. Caveat emptor.

by David at Moonphase on Fri 23 Oct 2009 10:01 BST

Hopefully to clear up the confusion I caused by naming it the TS9-808 years ago, this model is known in the USA as the TS9 Mod Plus or TS9 Mod +. They are all exactly the same pedal. All the Keeley effects pedals we sell in the UK are the exact same models as sold in the USA, they are all new production (modded or built in the USA) with the latest features. If you have any questions please let us know!

by David at Moonphase on Wed 21 Oct 2009 10:24 BST

For anyone who’s worried about the possibility of strikes delaying their delivery: We have found in the past that effects pedals and other items that we send by either Special Delivery or International Signed-For (if you’re outside the UK) tend to get through with little or no delay. This is because Royal Mail sends their managers out to handle these deliveries as they are under contract to deliver them in a set time. RM have indicated that this will be the case should there be a strike this week. First class items may be delayed for a couple of days if a strike does take place. Everything we have sent out recently to UK addresses has arrived next day as expected.

If you’re considering ordering but are worried about how we will deliver to you, please email, or phone us on +44 (0)1223 841035.

Usually I’m happier when a spacecraft doesn’t crash into the moon, but this time I’m glad it did. Congratulations to NASA’s Ames Research Center and everyone involved in the project for hitting the target! We’re eagerly looking forward to the results here in Cambridge.
