You’ve spent a lot of money on your effects pedals: We all have!  Using lousy cheapo cables to join those effects together is proven false economy; The proper way to do it is with George L’s pre-made 6 inch patch cables.

You can choose your cable colour, plug type and cap colour and have pre-made and tested custom patch cables delivered to you.

If you want different lengths (up to 12″) please specify and will not charge you any extra!

Modified new pedals (Tubescreamers, AD9s, DS-1u, BD-2s etc, essentially all the Boss and Ibanez ranges) are temporarily unavailable to order.  If you are considering buying one of these pedals please contact us to discuss the options.

All Keeley-manufactured pedals such as the Compressor, Fuzz Head, Time Machine Boost, Nova Wah, Java Boost, and Katana Boost are still available to order as usual.

  Paypal availability in doubt – update – update

After all the fanfare a couple of months ago about us introducing Paypal as an additional payment method, after living with it for a while we unfortunately may now have to remove it.  The fees are at least triple, the admin more complex and the payment clearance times are about five times longer than for regular debit & credit cards, so there’s a very good chance it will vanish from the options list on our shopping cart.

Update 13 May – RBS Worldpay have improved their terms so Paypal stays!

Update update 28 June – the terms were not delivered upon, so Paypal has gone and I can’t say I’m sorry to see it go.

I can’t let this week go by wthout mentioning Apollo 13.  Pretty much everything that could be said about this staggering event has already been said so if you’ve not already seen it, I strongly suggest you watch Ron Howard / Tom Hanks’ “Apollo 13″ and also the fabulous HBO series “From the Earth to the Moon”; 5 discs, 12 hours, about £15, what a bargain!

Finally, after months of bureaucracy, Moonphase Guitar Electronics accepts Paypal (in addition to debit/credit cards) as a payment method for everything we sell online; including Robert Keeley effect pedals, George L’s cables, MusicomLab effects switching systems and the Moonphaser.  When you checkout through our shopping cart system you will now be offered, for your convenience, the option of paying by Paypal as well as the familiar Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and so on.

We do have one important request though – PLEASE use Paypal ONLY if you already have a balance in your Paypal account that you want to spend.  If you’re paying us with a credit or debit card, PLEASE DON’T pay via Paypal; it’s a pointless layer of extra processing that is no more secure and takes an additional 7 working days to clear.  Paypal at least triples our transaction fee costs on credit cards and far more than that on debit cards, all of which does nothing but make profit for Paypal.  If a significant number of card payments do end up going (completely unnecessarily) through Paypal we will be forced to remove it from our checkout because it’s so expensive and slow.  Thank you for your help on this!

  Kilimanjaro Summit – they did it !!!

Sound Driver succeeded in their goal of playing the world’s highest rock gig at the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro yesterday. The gig was part of the Chasing Rainbows tour in aid of the charity The Smile Train.  For video from the summit visit http://www.chasingrainbowstour.com/  Congratulations to Billy, Chad, Jon, Pete, David and everyone involved on doing a fantastic job!

If anyone can dream up a tougher test for George L’s cables, bring it on!

  MusicomLab EFX MkII now version 3.0

Updated: A note on connecting the power supply to the EFX MkII – if using a 12Vdc supply, the +ve/-ve polarity of the barrel jack tip & sleeve DOES NOT MATTER.  The EFX MkII has a built-in full-wave rectifier so it can also accept a 9Vac supply.  Whichever type of supply you use it should be capable of delivering 400mA continuously.

  World’s Highest Gig

The ‘Chasing Rainbows Tour 2009’ will see the band, Sound Driver, stage the first ever electric rock gig at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest freestanding mountain at an altitude of 5,895m (19,340ft).  Summit Day & World Record Gig 22 February 2010.  In doing this, members of the team plan to achieve some of their own personal ambitions and also break some world records on the way. Most significantly, it will be the world’s highest altitude electrical rock gig/musical performance ever held on land!

Their aim is to raise awareness of the work of cleft palate charity The Smile Train.  George L’s and Moonphase are very proud to be sponsoring the band by providing their audio cabling.

  Delivery during possible Royal Mail strike action

For anyone who’s worried about the possibility of strikes delaying their delivery: We have found in the past that effects pedals and other items that we send by either Special Delivery or International Signed-For (if you’re outside the UK) tend to get through with little or no delay. This is because Royal Mail sends their managers out to handle these deliveries as they are under contract to deliver them in a set time. RM have indicated that this will be the case should there be a strike this week. First class items may be delayed for a couple of days if a strike does take place. Everything we have sent out recently to UK addresses has arrived next day as expected.
